What exactly does a local affiliate do? From our perspective it means being exposed to new trends and ideas, informal networking with a smaller group of respected, senior HR professionals and access to world-class thought leaders -- without a lot of hassle. We won't meet every month, just when an  interesting speaker becomes available --usually several times a year.

Over the last couple of years we've experimented with a variety of formats and we've learned this-- each one of us is too busy and doesn't have much time but interested in helping and participating if we can create something "smart, easy and informal" with no strings attached. Florida is a sprawling state which makes organizing events without extensive drive time challenging. So, in the spirit of technology and fuel conservation, we are experimenting with an innovative approach. 

Our meetings  are built around a new format.  Members take turns hosting a thought-provoking 90 minute teleconference and luncheon at their location. This is a national teleconference with opportunities to periodically ask the speaker questions and to discuss and compare best practices. Attendance is limited to a modest number as designated by our host. It is our hope that if you attend and find the event engaging, you will consider hosting a future meeting (we can always charge if necessary to cover food.)  Because Lee Hecht Harrison is a national sponsor, LHH contributes by covering the cost of the live teleconferences. The teleconference is organized and conducted by the national HRPS organization that charges members $150 for each call (non-members $250.)  Previous calls have included Marcus Buckingham, John Hofmeister and John  Boudreau--leading industry thought leaders . Visit the  national  hrps.org  website for a full list of past and upcoming speakers. 

Since we are initially not charging for events, (or modestly when necessary) we ask in return for RSVP's in a timely manner. If for some reason after you've RSVP'd you can't attend, please notify us right away or even better --- send a designate from your organization for continuity.

Who should attend: Senior Florida HR Professionals, committed to personal networking and professional growth, who agree to periodically host an event within their organization. The time and organization involved is minimal provided everyone is willing to contribute a fair share. This is a young organization that we hope to grow --and as a participant -- you will be able to impact.
